Tiny Treasures Day Care and Education was established in September 2010. We are pleased to announce that we were awarded a rating of “GOOD” in our October 2023 Ofsted inspection.
We are open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year. We cater for sixty children, ranging from 5 months to the 5th birthday.
We have created a friendly and welcoming working environment and work closely with parents to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing setting for all children. All nursery practitioners work diligently to comply with the rules and regulations of the Local Education Authority.
Green Lane Nursery is our oldest setting and has continued to grow from strength to strength. Recent development projects have included the creation of a large outdoor play area and garden, designed to enhance children’s learning and development through exploration and play. Our staff members speak a wide range of languages, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of the children we care for.
An established IT project within the setting has successfully integrated digital learning concepts into the children’s everyday experiences. As part of our green initiative, children are actively involved in recycling domestic packaging materials, which are creatively reused for arts and crafts activities during session times.
This is a large, open-plan room with a dedicated sink area where children can wash their hands independently after messy activities. The room also includes a creative corner with a builder’s yard, encouraging children to explore, investigate, and develop their problem-solving skills. The open-plan layout allows children to access all areas of the room, including the home corner for cooking. The staff have also created a doctor’s surgery to support the children’s role-play experiences. Children have access to a variety of literacy and numeracy resources, as well as books and stories for some quiet time. A planned routine is followed, offering a balance of free play, free-flow opportunities, and focused activities that are carefully tailored to suit the age and developmental needs of the children. Activities are thoughtfully designed to promote social and emotional development, while also supporting language skills, concentration, physical development, imagination, and curiosity. All routines and learning experiences are planned in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to support each child’s individual progress. Children’s independence and personal hygiene skills are encouraged when they are developmentally ready. Every experience within the room is designed to support each child’s growth, ensuring they are confident, capable, and well-prepared for their transition to “Big School.”
In our Baby/Toddler Room, all children are encouraged to develop independence with their eating and drinking when they are ready. We provide a wide range of activities, including creative play, music, singing, construction, storytelling, and physical play. We make use of open-ended and natural resources to inspire creativity, imagination, and curiosity, ensuring that all activities are age-appropriate and developmentally suitable. All children have access to the garden, where they can explore and enjoy outdoor play. We also follow individual routines to support consistency between home and nursery, helping children feel comfortable and secure. Our caring staff are always available for a cuddle whenever children need comfort and reassurance. To support language development, staff engage children in verbal games, rhymes, songs, and storytelling, in addition to ongoing interactive communication during daily care routines.
Our Baby Room provides a warm and comfortable environment, complete with its own cosy sensory area. We offer a variety of learning opportunities designed to help your little one play, explore, and grow. Activities include the use of natural, everyday objects, giving children real-life experiences with different textures and resources. Sensory and messy play are also provided, encouraging children to investigate and discover in their own way. Our dedicated staff support early language development through engaging verbal games, rhymes, songs, and stories, as well as through everyday interactions during routine care.
Our outdoor play area provides children with access to a mud kitchen, playhouse, planting area, outdoor fish tank, and a sandpit, offering plenty of opportunities for exploration and discovery during play. Outdoor play gives children the chance to enjoy fresh air and get the exercise they need while also helping them to develop communication, imagination, and problem-solving skills. It supports the growth of their confidence and resilience and, most importantly, allows them to have fun and build friendships while interacting with both their peers and our caring staff.
