Tiny Treasures Day Care and Education was established in September 2010.
We have a friendly working atmosphere where we have worked closely with parents in order to provide a safe and caring environment
for all children in our setting. We are open from 9.00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday. We cater for sixty children in two daily sessions.
.All nursery practitioners work hard to comply with the rules and regulations of the Local
Education Authority. Green Lane is our oldest settings and has gone from
strength to strength. Recent development projects have seen the creation of large outside play area and garden. Staff speak a wide
selection of languages to reflect the diverse languages spoken by the children. An established I.T. project at the setting has embedding
concepts of the digital age and learning into the children’s lives. As part of our green initiative children have become involved in recycling
domestic packaging from consumer products to be used in arts and craft during session times.
This is a large open plan room with a sink area for them to wash their hands independently after getting messy, they also have a creative corner with a builder’s yard for children to explore and investigate. The open plan in the room allows children to have access to all areas such as the home corner for cooking, the staff have also made adoctor’s surgery for the children’s role play time. Children have access to a variety of literacy and numeracy toys and stories for some quiet time. A planned routine is provided allowing for free play, free flow and focused activities that are appropriate to the age and development of thechildren. Activities are provided that encourage the children’s social and emotional development as well as their language, concentration, physical skills, imagination and curiosity. The children’s routine and activities are planned to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and to aid the individual development of the children. Children’s independence and hygiene skills are encouraged in these rooms when the children are ready. All routines and experiences aid the individual development of the children to ensure they are ready for their transition to ‘Big School’.
In our Baby/toddler Room all children are encouraged to be independent with their eating and drinking when they are ready. Activities are provided including creative, music, singing, construction, storytelling and physical play. We use a lot of open ended and natural resources to encourage creativity, imagination and curiosity which are all age and developmentally appropriate. All children have access to the garden. Individuals routines are followed to fit in with home and staff are always available for a cuddle. The staff promote language through verbal games, rhymes, songs and stories in addition to their usual verbal interaction during routine care activities
Our outdoor play area allows children to have access to a mud kitchen, playhouse, planting area, outdoor fish tank and a sandpit for children to explore during play. Outdoor play allows children to get fresh air and exercise they need; develop their communication, imagination and thinking skills; build their confidence and resilience; and, most importantly, have lots of fun with their friends and staff.
